BEE BEE DESIGNS OPENING IN BETHESDA IN FEBRUARY

Summer campers - and their parents - will have a one-stop shop in downtown Bethesda when Bee Bee Designs opens in February. The store will take over the Annie's Bistro space at 4823 St. Elmo Avenue, which has been vacant since the restaurant closed in October 2013.

Bee Bee Designs, which has an existing location in Livingston, New Jersey, offers apparel, trunks, travel bags, games to pass the time, and stationary and postcards for writing home. Likewise, it offers gifts and care packages parents can send or deliver to camp. A section of bedding, storage and other college dorm-like essentials will cover all the bases for sleepaway camp.

They will also have a personal shopper service, with which your camper can make an appointment and put together a customized shopping list for everything he or she will need this summer. Customization is available for many items, with the name of your child or of the summer camp.

Most of Greenhill's properties seem to be vacant most of the time.

I don't know how they stay in business.
